Monday in the Studio

Today was originally my day off of work, however I did some telehealth sessions. In the morning I walked my dog, then decided I wanted to be in my studio.

I spent about 3 hours in the studio. Watercolor was my choice of medium.

The watercolor painting below was done with 3 colors.

I’m rather proud how it turned out.

Then I painted a rabbit.

Then…I decided to use mixed medium..with gel pens and acrylic markers and watercolor. This one was fun to paint.

Below is with watercolor and gel pens. I wanted to add a quote to it.

I had a productive day in the studio.

I shall spend more time in there very soon.

Update on Derby

I know it’s been awhile since I posted an update. Unfortunately stitching time was limited and I have tennis elbow. But I’m stubborn so stitching must go on, even when wearing an elbow compression.

Stitching has made it more than half-way finished.

The amount of DMC310 BLACK used in the horse is more than you can see in the photo. It was combined with a darker navy and a darker gray with some highlights of a maroon. There was much changing of colors to complete the horse, and yet the tip of the nose hasn’t been stitched.

The two horses blend together rather well, it gives the appearance they are running on a race track.

More to come…
