I See A Seahorse

It’s been awhile since I’ve been serious about posting on this blog. Lately, it’s been exhaustion, health issues and making big life transition decisions.

What’s Ahead

  • Last day of working in an office is approaching at the end of this month
  • Start a new job later this summer
  • Taking a break for awhile to recharge, visit museums and just sit in art making supplies
  • Organize my thoughts of where I want to take my art
  • Just be happy

What am I Still Doing?

  • Baking and cooking
  • Healthy eating
  • Living simple
  • Cross stitching
  • Knitting that blanket
  • Taking walks with my dog
  • Doing yoga
  • Making art
  • Working my job
  • Sleeping

Let’s Be Honest

  • I can do more yoga
  • Set a better morning routine
  • Be happier
  • Focus more on Art
  • Eat healthier
  • Come on, now just wake up and take your vitamins and get the day going!

What am I Considering

  • Starting an art vlog
  • Opening an art shop webpage
  • Making art into prints
  • Making stickers
  • Starting drawings for an adult coloring book
  • Learn adobe illustrator

I better be getting up early and starting my day. No more lazy sleeping

What, you mentioned a surprise?

I am now an owner of three more cats. I have 6 cats and one dog in my small house. Loving it.

Gladiolus Flower Drawing

Today I wanted to draw. I had a few minutes to sit down in my studio.

Inspiration Flower

Gladiolus

  • Comes from Latin word gladius
  • Gladius means sword
  • Associated with gladiators
  • Flower resembles a sword
  • Symbolizes strength, infatuation and passion
  • Used as a symbol of protection during the gladiator era

I really enjoyed this coloring illustration.

Illustrating Flowers

I started a new journal. This one is 5″x8″ journal that will be dedicated to flowers.

The book In Bloom, has wonderful illustrations and directions on how to draw flowers from around the world.

Currently I am sketching the flowers. Then next week while waiting to be called in for jury duty. I will finish the sketch using pens or color pencils. Not sure yet.

I will post more as they get completed.

#1 mandala

I am challenging myself to draw/doodle a mandala. Mandalas help to decrease anxiety and stress. I want to try to draw 30 mandalas. I know I will not do them daily and that’s not the point.

This is done with a black pen. Sometimes I like to keep more open spaces in my doodles.

I have been stressed with deciding if I leave my job. I decided to stay as I really want to work remotely. I don’t think at this time with the world events I should work from home. I feel more people will want office visits to keep human contact.

I also was stressed about life. I realized that I’m trying to be happy through a job, but it’s a job I’m no longer feeling fulfilled at.

Peace. Let’s pray for Ukraine.

30 Drawings of Mandalas

Drawing Challenge

This challenge is to doodle 30 mandalas. Why, you ask? Just for fun, and to get myself focused on art and creativity again.

I am working out of a hardback sketch book, 8″ x 11″ using a black pen and crayons, color pencils or gel pens. This is something I can do before I go to sleep. Resting my legs under my weighted blanket after a long day. With my work schedule, taking care of my pets and resting my body, I won’t be able to finish these in 30 days. The outcome will be having 30 doodle mandalas.

I started drawing this evening. Here is my rheumatoid arthritis hand. Swollen, puffy and joints are in pain from all the drawing.

The completed drawing will be posted later…

Happy Day
