This site is about my life in the art studio. It includes drawings, paintings, knitting and cross stitch and fun art techniques. I will also include recipes and yoga and book reviews. This is a lifestyle blog with intentional and simple living ideas.
Place the acrylic paint colors into my pallet. Then played relaxing instrumental music. I used deep breathing and focus on the intention of painting. I used sketch book paper for the mini expressive paintings. Then I started to paint on canvas using the Expressive art techniques.
Before I closed up the studio, I drew out a scribble of my next painting.

I used modeling paste medium on this mini expressive painting. I wanted to make it textured and learn how to incorporate it in my painting.

What’s On My Mind
I have been working on being in my art studio daily, either drawing, watching art videos, or painting.
I have not decided what I want to do as far as if I want to set up a shop, do more vlogging, or just make art with no intention of doing anything other than this blog.
I think I can’t decide because there’s so much going on. I started my new job which has taken off in such a successful way. And I’ll be taking on a new part time job soon. I am consumed by health issues. So do I want the stress of an art business along with working my jobs? I need to work as the medical expenses has been getting expensive.
I have an urge to concentrate on my knitted blanket and cross stitch and embroidery projects. I find those relaxing. The fine arts tend to bring more anxiety provoking because I never know if it would be good enough to invest in my time to sell it.
In my studio today. I’m starting to adapt to working from home. This is the last stretch of going into an office! I’m excited. This is something I wanted to do since last summer.
Today I had a few clients to talk with. I also had to do some cleaning in the house. The last few days my dog has been sick and I found out today nothing serious is happening it must have been a stomach bug.
I made a new YouTube video I’m getting a hang of videoing my art. I admit it is challenging I am not technology savvy but I am willing to learn. So I know only growth could happen from this and I also can learn that it might not be something I want to do long-term then again I might learn it would be something I want to do permanently. This new phase of my life is just opening up doors that I thought I would never have time to explore.
So here’s the video that I made I still need to learn how to edit and shorten the videos that will be my next step.
Today was a day of a little work in the morning. Then cleaning the house to buying flowers. And a nap. Then exercise which consisted of a walk and arm exercises. (I need to get toned)!
Then I decided to paint a little would be a nice break from all of the color pencil drawings.
The New Paintings
It’s the first layer ..I have no idea what this will look like. It started as a scribble.
I want these to be a pair. And most likely will sell them as a pair.
I have 3 more weeks of my office job and then I will be starting a new job later this summer and get to work from home. I am excited to have more time to paint and draw. It’s the best decision I have made.
Lately, I have been watching many YouTube videos of other artists painting. It relaxing to watch. And inspiring.
And I have been listening to The Artists Way. Wow, this is reshaping my mind. When I listen to this, I’m either cooking or drawing.
New Painting
I went to art school but I never felt that I learned the techniques the Masters used. Watching the YouTube videos has helped me to see the areas I want to work on. The videos have also inspired me to paint or draw daily.
I received some sad news about a friend who passed away she was ill for a while. I will miss her. I found myself in front of a canvas and I started painting. I wanted to use small brush strokes, with the impressionism as my inspiration.
Acrylic painting on canvas. It started as a scribble. The colors were chosen, and randomly painted. Then the fine details were added with acrylic markers.
It’s been a busy week. Well I started to make some changes. I’m going to make a major decision soon. It’s going to go fast. I’ll announce later.
Painting on Canvas
Tonight I was able to spend time at the craft table. I did yoga it was needed. I have been busy, running around and feel like I needed to pull away and create.
This began as a scribble. Then I started to pick colors. This time I wanted pastel, quiet colors. The first layer is on the canvas.
