It’s a Rue Paris Cross Stitch Day

Today I worked on the Rue Paris Cross Stitch.

My cat also joined me. Loves the string action!

Spending Time in the Studio

The Paintings

This morning has been very humid, so I spent the morning in my studio. I wanted to try a black and white painting. It’s been such a long time since I have drawn and painted using black and white.

First I drew a sketch a few weeks ago. Then I used a 11″x14″ canvas board. Normally I don’t paint on these boards often.

I am waiting for it to dry and will go back to it soon to add more depth and detail.

I also worked on the flower scribble acrylic painting.

I will work on it more soon. Also needing it to dry.

Coming Soon

I have been thinking about putting together a book about creating in a visual art journal. It’s something I’m going to try to work on once a week. Eventually I will be posting more about it and hopefully can get it sold.

I decided to not do YouTube videos as I want time to work on my book. I wasn’t enjoying video creating but I will post videos from time-to-time on Instagram.

Happy Day

Sunday Expressive Painting

The Process

Place the acrylic paint colors into my pallet. Then played relaxing instrumental music. I used deep breathing and focus on the intention of painting. I used sketch book paper for the mini expressive paintings. Then I started to paint on canvas using the Expressive art techniques.

Before I closed up the studio, I drew out a scribble of my next painting.

I used modeling paste medium on this mini expressive painting. I wanted to make it textured and learn how to incorporate it in my painting.

What’s On My Mind

I have been working on being in my art studio daily, either drawing, watching art videos, or painting.

I have not decided what I want to do as far as if I want to set up a shop, do more vlogging, or just make art with no intention of doing anything other than this blog.

I think I can’t decide because there’s so much going on. I started my new job which has taken off in such a successful way. And I’ll be taking on a new part time job soon. I am consumed by health issues. So do I want the stress of an art business along with working my jobs? I need to work as the medical expenses has been getting expensive.

I have an urge to concentrate on my knitted blanket and cross stitch and embroidery projects. I find those relaxing. The fine arts tend to bring more anxiety provoking because I never know if it would be good enough to invest in my time to sell it.

So what to do? That is a question to answer.

Happy Day

A Rooster Drawing

Today was extremely hot. I started my day off drawing and working. I have been working from home lately. In a few weeks I will no longer be going into the office and I will be starting a new job working from home. This is a really good decision as I’m noticing my artwork has been improving and I am enjoying it.

After I had breakfast I had to get measurements for compression socks. I am having swelling in my legs and have gone to a specialist. In 2 weeks I have testing scheduled to determine what could be going on with my legs. So in the meantime I have to wear compression socks and keep my legs elevated as much as possible.

But today it wasn’t elevating my legs it was keeping my head down and my eyes closed because I had a migraine all day. I was able to make my dinner but I took a nap afterwards. It has stormed but my head still is throbbing so it’s another few hours of resting. I tried drawing throughout the day but did not get as much done as I hoped.

My Dinner

My dinner was gluten free dairy free macaroni salad and a tomato and cucumber and radish salad with lemon dressing. I cooked chicken thighs in a crock pot to go along with a salads.

Sunday Painting in the Studio

Today was a day of a little work in the morning. Then cleaning the house to buying flowers. And a nap. Then exercise which consisted of a walk and arm exercises. (I need to get toned)!

Then I decided to paint a little would be a nice break from all of the color pencil drawings.

The New Paintings

It’s the first layer ..I have no idea what this will look like. It started as a scribble.

I want these to be a pair. And most likely will sell them as a pair.

I have 3 more weeks of my office job and then I will be starting a new job later this summer and get to work from home. I am excited to have more time to paint and draw. It’s the best decision I have made.

Happy Day

What! It’s time for a Change?!

This morning, I became motivated to change some items around in my home.

First I ordered a new bedding. I need my colors to match! I also want some colors that show my personality.

I moved my area rug to my studio. I now can do yoga with a rug under my mat, which my knees are so happy for this decision.

Breakfast

For breakfast, I made sausage. And cut up kiwi, and added blackberries and raspberries to it. And a tall glass of chocolate milk.

I watched some of my favorite YouTube artists.

I do have clients scheduled today. Mostly later this evening.

Will the change happen?

I’m still undecided if fully working from home will be the best for me. I think by the end of the year I will have the answer.

Gladiolus Flower Drawing

Today I wanted to draw. I had a few minutes to sit down in my studio.

Inspiration Flower

Gladiolus

  • Comes from Latin word gladius
  • Gladius means sword
  • Associated with gladiators
  • Flower resembles a sword
  • Symbolizes strength, infatuation and passion
  • Used as a symbol of protection during the gladiator era

I really enjoyed this coloring illustration.

Happy Day
