I used Crayola color pencils.

Is this finished? I don’t think so. I have more ideas. There’s a lot of blank space on this paper.

This site is about my life in the art studio. It includes drawings, paintings, knitting and cross stitch and fun art techniques. I will also include recipes and yoga and book reviews. This is a lifestyle blog with intentional and simple living ideas.

I really need to complete this painting…maybe that’s my goal to meet by spring.
This is a painting about me and my dog taking a walk in the metro parks. We used to walk there every weekend during the summer and into the autumn season. She is now 13 years old. Our walks are shorter but she still loves them.

These are my paws. My studio and this blog is named after my them. I always call them 4paws when I’m looking for them, especially the cats!
I have a white cat who is mischievous, knocks things off the counter. Broke about 3 items. He’s been living here for 6 months. I love him and don’t get overly mad at him breaking things. My sentimental items are locked in a cabinet, so he can’t easily get to those.
My dog is about 13 years old. It makes me sad she older. Definitely seeing old age in her. She was my aunt’s dog, I took her in after she died.
Then there’s the revolutionist. Always up to something but is too afraid to do it. She’s a sweetheart. She’s all about me. She will cuddle by me, but she’s a large cat and it can become uncomfortable.
And finally my blind cat. She’s my nighttime buddy. She gets excited to jump on my bed and lay on her pillow by me. She loves to be held, well I think she does. Lol. She walks up and down the stairs, will run the white cat downstairs. And she loves playing. Blind yes, but really she has the same behaviors as a cat with eyes.
And I want to share I had 4 other cats prior. I terribly miss them. One was a shy little Maine coon. The other was a stray I took in. Tabby cat. Boy, she didn’t put up with anyone’s BS. Except mine. Loved her dearly. And a black cat, who was my sister’s but he preferred me. He was in love with me. And then the calico. Loved her. She was Miss house manager. She kept me on my toes. My heart breaks without them.

I am a tea drinker. I have tons of tea pots and loose tea and tea in tea bags. I drink tea daily, definitely first thing in the morning. Sometimes before bed I’ll have a relaxing tea, like lavender. Or I’ll drink a detox to help with my edema and fluid retention.

Eye certainly express emotions. As a counselor, there are times, clients will not look at me or anyone for that matter. Fear, shame, guilt, uncomfortable, timid, anger etc.
We are in a society where a lack of eye contact is “normal.” It does not have to be normal. We can change that, but getting social and being more friendly and open to other people. We seem to focus on the differences of others and needing to prove our individual point instead of learning about others’ viewpoints. Social media has contributed to the lack of eye contact and the need to post how “wonderful life really is.” But it’s just that a post, it is a second of some ones’ life captured. But look into their eyes, look into their soul and find out more about a person. That is how we can change.

Jewelry is always fun to look at. The sparkle, textures, designs and shapes. It really is it’s own piece of artwork.
I have a large box of costume jewelry. It is tangled. I wanted to sort through them and see if they can be worn with my outfits for work. Maybe I will get to that soon. That would be a good decluttering goal as well.

This challenge is about shadow. I took photos of the shadow from the trees two days after the intense winter storm. The sun is shining and some of the snow is melting. It’s cold though.

There was a time I wanted to have a relationship. The heart falls hard. The relationship was not realistic. He wanted something else. I wanted the commitment. I felt a despair. Cried for days. Then I woke up one day and recognized what being single really means.
There are many women who write about being single. And they all have similar ideas about the happiness a woman can find being single.
Here are some of the reasons being single can bring you happiness.
Singleness does not define you, it does not have to determine if you are happy. Happiness is something you can reach for no matter your relationship status.
Here are some books I have read to help me work through my singleness.
Btw: I am still single and don’t plan on changing that!
