I started this month with a priority of exercising twice a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
What I found when I did this, was my mood improved, my body felt better and I felt like I was a lighter not necessarily I lost weight but I just felt better in my digestion. And I was not eating as much nor I wanted to eat as much.
Then there was a week where I just couldn’t keep up with it because of a personal issue in the family. I just wasn’t able to exercise twice a day and I was extremely exhausted from that week. So I took a temporary break during that time.
I always find when I take a break from anything it takes me at least a week or two to get back to it full speed. So during that time I was exercising it just wasn’t scheduled out and it was not my priority and I was not logging it.
Prioritizing Exercising
Yesterday I decided I needed to get back to it full speed. I sat around a lot yesterday cross stitching which there are post in this blog about my stitching.
Anyway I wanted to go for a walk but my courtyard garden really needed weeding and just some TLC after a week of rain. I prioritized my courtyard garden first and it was about 5:00 p.m. The sun was out and it was very hot. When I finished I called myself off and I decided to walk outside with my fair skin I just didn’t feel I wanted to do that. So yoga and cycling became an exercise for the evening.
In the morning I did yoga and cycling. I ran out of time but I wanted to do weightlifting. The red out of time because I work on Saturday mornings. And I just did not get up in time.
That’s the other thing I noticed about not prioritizing exercising and not keeping a log and making sure I get it done is that I get so much more tired and it is harder for me to want to wake up. The amount of sleep I get is so much greater when I don’t exercise in the morning and in the evening. I need that schedule.
What I Have Learned
So the lesson I am sharing with you is once when you find an exercise routine that works for you and you know that it has improved your mood and maybe your energy level, then you need to keep going.
When the schedule becomes conflicted with personal issues or other activities that might temporarily stop it, it might be better to find an alternative to continue exercising.
The Plan
The plan at this point is to finish out this month and I will be thinking about if I want to log it and share it and this blog again for July. It helped me to become accountable but I think I might want to do something else for July for the blog. We will see I’m right now brainstorming.
