Need My Exercise Routine

I started this month with a priority of exercising twice a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

What I found when I did this, was my mood improved, my body felt better and I felt like I was a lighter not necessarily I lost weight but I just felt better in my digestion. And I was not eating as much nor I wanted to eat as much.

Then there was a week where I just couldn’t keep up with it because of a personal issue in the family. I just wasn’t able to exercise twice a day and I was extremely exhausted from that week. So I took a temporary break during that time.

I always find when I take a break from anything it takes me at least a week or two to get back to it full speed. So during that time I was exercising it just wasn’t scheduled out and it was not my priority and I was not logging it.

Prioritizing Exercising

Yesterday I decided I needed to get back to it full speed. I sat around a lot yesterday cross stitching which there are post in this blog about my stitching.

Anyway I wanted to go for a walk but my courtyard garden really needed weeding and just some TLC after a week of rain. I prioritized my courtyard garden first and it was about 5:00 p.m. The sun was out and it was very hot. When I finished I called myself off and I decided to walk outside with my fair skin I just didn’t feel I wanted to do that. So yoga and cycling became an exercise for the evening.

In the morning I did yoga and cycling. I ran out of time but I wanted to do weightlifting. The red out of time because I work on Saturday mornings. And I just did not get up in time.

That’s the other thing I noticed about not prioritizing exercising and not keeping a log and making sure I get it done is that I get so much more tired and it is harder for me to want to wake up. The amount of sleep I get is so much greater when I don’t exercise in the morning and in the evening. I need that schedule.

What I Have Learned

So the lesson I am sharing with you is once when you find an exercise routine that works for you and you know that it has improved your mood and maybe your energy level, then you need to keep going.

When the schedule becomes conflicted with personal issues or other activities that might temporarily stop it, it might be better to find an alternative to continue exercising.

The Plan

The plan at this point is to finish out this month and I will be thinking about if I want to log it and share it and this blog again for July. It helped me to become accountable but I think I might want to do something else for July for the blog. We will see I’m right now brainstorming.

Review: I did really well for 10 days. My goal was to do this for a whole month however some personal issues came up that I decided to do this challenge for 10 days. But it gave me a really good idea of the type of exercising I could do that seems to help me throughout the day and also is good for the evening. I will continue exercising I’m just not going to log it and share everything. I have not been outside walking for a while because of the smoke from the Canadian wildfire.

I am hoping to be able to walk starting tomorrow as they say the air will be much better to be outside.

Day 11-healthy challenge

June 6, 2023

I woke up exhausted last night. It is extremely difficult to watch someone who you love have their last few days of life. Cancer is such a horrible thing. As it weighs on me quite a bit it reminds me of the time when my mom passed. So I am very tired and I need a lot of rest and slow down.

I think my exercise will be on a slower side and not as detailed for at least the next week. So I’m not sure if I’m going to continue logging my daily routine I might instead blog a weekly review.

Morning exercise

Lymphatic exercises and cycling

Breakfast

Quiche

Lunch

Pasta salad with red and yellow peppers, and cucumbers

Dinner

Lettuce salad and pasta salad and water.

Evening exercise

20 min walk.

I noticed with the amount of stress I’ve been under the last few days, my legs are swollen and tired. Walking felt heavy when lifting my legs and they felt hot when I was finished walking.

I took a shower and used lavender soap to calm my legs.

Tonight I’m going to bed early.

Day 6 healthy challenge

June 1, 2023

Yesterday I didn’t do so well with my eating habits. I realized there’s been no fruits in my system. When I eat fruits, I am less likely wanting to eat something salty or just not healthy.

Today’s goal is to have fruits.

I started my day at 5:30am. I made my hot tea.

Morning Exercise

Yoga, cycling

Breakfast

Egg over toast, spinach and asparagus

Lunch

A few slices of cheese

Snack

Popcorn and I had a coke.

Dinner

Pasta, chicken, spinach, mushrooms with Alfredo sauce. It’s gluten free and the sauce hasn’t upset my stomach!!!!

Evening Exercise

Lymphatic exercises and cycling

Today my legs ended up being extremely swollen I think partly because it was hot and I did not put compression socks on my legs today. Sometimes I have a hard time and compression socks on while I’m wearing a dress that would show the socks. I probably shouldn’t have that as a concern but you get stared at when you’re out in public that way. It’s something I still have to work through.

Day 5-healthy challenge

Wednesday May 31, 2023

I woke up this morning and it was stuffy in the house. It was in a high ’80s yesterday and the humidity wasn’t as bad at night but with the house closed up it was getting hot. I woke up around 5:00 a.m. and I fed my animals open the front door to get the breeze and made myself a cup of hot tea. I decided I’m going to take this week off from walking to heal my blister and it’s just too hot for me to walk outside.

Morning Exercise

20 min yoga with balance and core, 5 min ab work, cycle for 13 mins

Breakfast

Banana bread and two boiled eggs.

Lunch

I didn’t know what to eat so I had cereal.

Dinner

Fish, salad and baked potato

Evening Exercise

Lymphatic exercises and cycle

Day 3- healthy challenge

Monday May 20, 2023

Waking up was hard. I wanted to sleep more. I managed to get up and start having my hot tea at 6:15. I’m trying to barter with myself to wash the floors in place of walking.

I felt a little hungry so I ate some dry Chex. So now I have to take a walk.

Morning Exercise

Walked for 20 mins, yoga for 20 mins, dumbbells for 10 minutes

Breakfast

Rice noodles, 2 boiled eggs, yogurt

Lunch

I made a smoothie with a banana and ice coffee, added in protein powder.

Dinner

I forgot to take a photo of my dinner. I had tuna patties, salad, and rice with water.

Evening Exercise

Lymphatic exercises and cycle. Then I cleaned the floor, mopping it. So that is an exercise in itself! I did not walk because it was too hot and I don’t do well in hot weather.

I also noticed a blister between my toes. It depends on how it is tomorrow morning if I go for a walk.

Simple Morning Routine

Today I woke up feeling lethargic and sad. Nothing happened between last night and this morning to bring on my sadness.

I ended up sleeping on the sofa for an hour after my pets wanted to be fed. Then I took a hot shower and took a short walk with my dog. I didn’t have enough time to walk her and make a hot drink before I had to sign on the computer for my first client.

Gluten Free Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate sounded like a perfect feeling better hot drink.

I bought a gluten free hot chocolate Silliness by Nature/ silly ow farms. It’s expensive but certainly healthier for my digestive system.

First I pour almond milk in my cup to measure how much I need. Then I pour the milk in a saucepan. Heat it. I never bring it to a boil. I like the milk to be warm not overly hot.

While the milk is warming up, I measure 2 teaspoons of the hot chocolate mix and put it in my cup.

Then I pour the warm milk in my cup. And stir.

I had a few extra minutes so I started writing a list of books I want to read. I’m not an avid reader but I want to incorporate it into my evening relaxing routine.

After my session, I had time to prepare part of my dinner I will have tonight. Having an autoimmune illness, preparing meals ahead is helpful. Plus it’s supposed to rain and turn to a wintery mix. Ughh…

Last Friday I made chicken soup in a crockpot. I took that out of the freezer. And decided to make cornbread muffins. Using Krusteaz cornbread mix.

Cornbread Muffins

I decided to have a cornbread muffin with my lunch. It was tasty. Then afterwards I had the cinnamon muffin for some sweetness.

Off to the Office

Happy Day
