Have Fun with Left-Over paint

I collected the dripping paint onto a tray. After I was finished with the coaster, I took paper and pressed it into the left over paint and made a print. I also brushed paint into my sketch book. This is a fun background for a sketch book multi-media artwork.

Pour Paint

It’s been a quick summer. I feel like I have returned back to all work and no play mentality. I have been working from home at a new job which I love. I don’t have the pressures of meetings and needing to be in the office for 40 hours. However I have not done a good idea with my art goals lately.

To recharge me and allow my mind to heal. I decided to try pour painting. It was fun, made me laugh and giggle. I felt like I was at the art experiment table in kindergarten again. It allowed me to be free.

I might make more. This may be my fun art that I do when I need to let my mind go and have some freedom.

I have been working on my art journal technique book and have a blog specifically for it. It is

Spending Time in the Studio

The Paintings

This morning has been very humid, so I spent the morning in my studio. I wanted to try a black and white painting. It’s been such a long time since I have drawn and painted using black and white.

First I drew a sketch a few weeks ago. Then I used a 11″x14″ canvas board. Normally I don’t paint on these boards often.

I am waiting for it to dry and will go back to it soon to add more depth and detail.

I also worked on the flower scribble acrylic painting.

I will work on it more soon. Also needing it to dry.

Coming Soon

I have been thinking about putting together a book about creating in a visual art journal. It’s something I’m going to try to work on once a week. Eventually I will be posting more about it and hopefully can get it sold.

I decided to not do YouTube videos as I want time to work on my book. I wasn’t enjoying video creating but I will post videos from time-to-time on Instagram.

Happy Day

Sunday Expressive Painting

The Process

Place the acrylic paint colors into my pallet. Then played relaxing instrumental music. I used deep breathing and focus on the intention of painting. I used sketch book paper for the mini expressive paintings. Then I started to paint on canvas using the Expressive art techniques.

Before I closed up the studio, I drew out a scribble of my next painting.

Acrylic paint on sketchbook paper

I used modeling paste medium on this mini expressive painting. I wanted to make it textured and learn how to incorporate it in my painting.

What’s On My Mind

I have been working on being in my art studio daily, either drawing, watching art videos, or painting.

I have not decided what I want to do as far as if I want to set up a shop, do more vlogging, or just make art with no intention of doing anything other than this blog.

I think I can’t decide because there’s so much going on. I started my new job which has taken off in such a successful way. And I’ll be taking on a new part time job soon. I am consumed by health issues. So do I want the stress of an art business along with working my jobs? I need to work as the medical expenses has been getting expensive.

I have an urge to concentrate on my knitted blanket and cross stitch and embroidery projects. I find those relaxing. The fine arts tend to bring more anxiety provoking because I never know if it would be good enough to invest in my time to sell it.

So what to do? That is a question to answer.

Happy Day
